NSW Leaving Certificate

When Les Stone joined the Congregation of Christian Brothers (Congregatio Fratrum Christianorum) from Collingwood he lacked a formal education which meant completing his secondary education as a mature age student at Christian Brothers College Strathfield. NSW Leaving Certificate. A famous name and signature appears on the certificate - Minister for Education the Hon Clive Evatt. Reference to Leslie Faber Stone is religious - Les Stone became Brother Faber the name formerly adopted by Australian novelist Morris West a contemporary who left the Congregation.
