EXPO 1988

30 April 1988

Pam Stone was an intrepid, adventurous traveller. Pam had always planned to travel with her husband Les in his retirement. His premature death in 1974 derailed her plans so together with her friend Jean Whitla she traversed Australia and then abroad. It was an obvious extension of her plans to visit the EXPO in Brisbane. Pam spent time in many of the various pavillions as evidenced by her World EXPO Passport. The Northern Territory was a participant and Pam's Passport was duly stamped. Pam before and after the EXPO visited many of the participating countries (including China during the Cultural Revolution). EXPO 88 was open to the public from 30 April to 30 October 1988. Pam's EXPO Passport was stamped on the opening day.
