Shane Stone and Mal Nairn

Professor Mal Nairn Vice Chancellor of the Northern Territory University left a lasting legacy on the University. His pioneering work in ensuring NTU as a post-secondary centre of learning from TAFE to Higher Education guaranteed the survival of the fledgling university that for years had been denied federal funding by successive Labour governments in Canberra (Hawke and Keating).
