The 1997 winner of the Chief Minister's Women's Fellowship Award Leonnie Norrington addressing the assembled participants, supporters and members of the public. The Northern Territory Government Women’s Fellowship Award was established in 1988 by the Perron CLP Government. The Awards were established to assist Territory women implement and report on projects that were of professional interest. The Awards were also intended to assist the advancement of Government policy priorities as identified in action plans across Government. The Fellowship was subsequently re-badged together with the Women's Achievement Awards as the Chief Minister's Scholarship for Women in 2001 by the Martin Labor Government.
