The 2016 Republican National Convention was held in Cleveland, Ohio July 18-21, 2016. Day 2 theme: Make America Work Again. The IDU sent a 108 strong delegation including representatives of the Federal Liberal Party and National Party of Australia. Day 2: International Republican Institute (IRI) Foreign Policy Forum - 'The Future of US National Security Policy'. Discussion centered on two panel discussions moderated by Congressman Peter Roskam - 'Republican Principles in American Global Engagement' and 'Peace Through Strength - The Necessity of the Best Equipped, Best-Led Military'. Democracy building and reform through the Australian Political Parties for Democracy Program administered and audited by Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
