Letter from Stella Maris Seafarers Centre

Correspondence from Mr Dan Thomas, Secretary, The Apostleship of the Sea, Stella Maris Seafarers Centre, following the retirement of Shane Stone as Chief Minister of Australia's Northern Territory. Extensive mail, fax and telephone messages were received from throughout the Territory and from Australia wide, hence, a small selection of the correspondence has been included in the archives. Extract: ''I wish to express on behalf of the committee members and myself our disappointment in learning f your change of position in the parliament.'' Shane Stone replied on 4 May, copy attached. In helping Stella Maris obtain their long term lease it was never intended that they would pass that lease to another entity including Unions NT.
